Stretch Your Dies, Day 6

For me, one of the best things about the Online Card Classes is to look at supplies that have been long unused (or never used--horrors!)  I was inspired to pull out a border die that reminded me of a trellis.  I thought it went well with this small watercolored piece.  (Derwent Inktense and Water Color Pencils)

The front looked too plain so I stamped a wood grain background

I cut some strips to provide a pop of color to show through my "trellis."  Depending upon the recipient, I will either stamp a small sentiment or just write a note on the narrow inside.

I am looking forward to playing more with my border dies...they truly are a challenge in my stash!

Thanks for taking a look!

Stretch Your Dies, Day 5

I pick up so many great techniques and ideas from the Online Card Classes...but every once in a while, an idea is so fun that I just can't stop.  Today was one of those days.  I didn't get past Dawn's video and had to stop and play.  I used the Tim Holtz spritzer to get my air brush look.

The white examples include Distress Spray Stain in Brushed Pewter and the examples on Kraft card stock included a gold paint pen in the spritzer.

And I still have the masks so there are undoubtedly more color combinations on the horizon.

Stretch Your Dies Day 4

Best of intentions...I sign up for these wonderful Online Card Classes and plan to play everyday...and then life gets in the way.  Hopefully, this weekend!  I am playing with new watercolors so, of course, I had to work in a watercolor panel with my Impression Obsession Butterflies.  Love getting two cards in the effort!
The watercolor panel is mounted with foam tape for a little dimension.

I added a few more butterflies and foam mounted the large butterfly.  I can't decide if I like the dashed line or not...maybe it should have been a solid line.

Welcome!

I have been contemplating a blog for a while.  Flickr and Instagram just weren't filling the need...so here goes.  Much work to do to make the blog workable...but for today, I wanted to play.

This is my inspiration from my first day of Stretch Your Dies Online Card Class.  After sorting and putting away supplies this weekend, I wanted to use some of my much loved stamps that haven't seen ink recently.

Thanks for stopping by and come back to see how this evolves!
